No win no fee – How does it work?
No win no fee means you don’t pay legal fees up front. If your claim fails, you don’t pay your solicitor at all. If you win, a share of your compensation pays the legal fee — usually no more than 25%. The exact amount depends on your case. Your solicitor will explain the costs clearly before you sign anything.
No win no fee is also called a conditional fee arrangement. You need a solicitor firm that’s willing to take on your case, and the right insurance cover. There are a few rare exceptions, which your solicitor will walk you through.
