Accessibility Statement

About this statement
This accessibility statement applies to mayiclaim.co.uk, operated by R Costings Limited (trading as MayIClaim), regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 836625).
We are committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible. This includes people who are blind or partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing, with motor impairments, with cognitive disabilities or learning differences, with mental health conditions, and people in vulnerable circumstances within the meaning of the FCA’s Vulnerable Customer Guidance FG21/1.
Conformance status
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA — the established UK benchmark for digital accessibility. We are also committed to meeting the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 (including the anticipatory duty under section 20 to make reasonable adjustments) and the FCA Consumer Duty (PRIN 2A).
This site is not yet fully WCAG 2.2 AA compliant. We are actively working to address the remaining issues — details below.
Reasonable adjustments — how we can help
If you have a disability or are in vulnerable circumstances and would like an adjustment to how we communicate with you, we will accommodate your request. Adjustments we routinely make include:
- Correspondence in large print, plain-text email, or easy-read format
- Telephone call-back if you cannot use online forms
- Communication through a nominated representative, family member or carer
- Additional time to respond to our correspondence
- BSL interpretation for face-to-face or video meetings, where reasonably practical
- Any other reasonable adjustment that would help you access our service
To request any adjustment, contact us by:
- Email: enquiries@mayiclaim.co.uk
- Telephone: 0800 756 7774 (free from UK landlines and mobiles)
- Post: R Costings Limited, The Old Chapel, St Johns Court, East Street, St. Ives, England, PE27 5PD
Known accessibility issues we are working on
We are honest about the issues we are aware of. We are actively working to resolve the following:
- Body-copy reading age: some pages on the site are written at a higher reading age than we want for our audience. We are rewriting key pages to a Flesch–Kincaid grade of 6–8 so they are easier to read for everyone, including readers with dyslexia.
- Older blog and service pages may not yet meet our internal AA standard. We are reviewing and updating them in priority order.
- Third-party embeds (Vimeo, reCAPTCHA, Google Maps, etc.) rely on the accessibility of the underlying third-party services. We have ensured all embeds carry meaningful titles, and we test third-party providers periodically.
- PDF documents shared on the site may not all be fully tagged for screen-reader navigation. If you require an accessible version of a specific document, please contact us using the details above and we will provide one.
Recent improvements (as of 19 May 2026)
- Phone numbers across the site are now clickable
tel:links - Visible keyboard focus indicators on all interactive elements
- Form labels remain visible when typing (previously hidden)
- Required form fields now use the
requiredattribute andaria-required="true" - Form fields include
autocompleteattributes (name, email, telephone, etc.) for faster completion - Submit / call-to-action button contrast brought above WCAG AA threshold (4.5:1 for regular text, 3:1 for large bold)
- Skip-to-main-content link injected as the first focusable element
- 404 page heading replaced with meaningful content + onward links
- Body line-height raised to support readability for dyslexic readers
- Embedded iframes (Vimeo, reCAPTCHA) now carry descriptive
titleattributes - The Complaints Procedure now includes a dedicated reasonable adjustments section
